Door-to-Door Ski and Snowboard Rental in Summit County Colorado
If you plan to rent ski or snowboard equipment on your winter vacation to Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, or Arapahoe Basin, door-to-door rental is the ultimate in convenience. Why waste your valuable vacation time standing in line at a rental shop? Kick back in your condo and let the rental equipment come to you. Yes, you will have to stick your feet out of the hot tub to get fitted for boots, but other than that, it is hassle free.
The prices for door-to-door rentals are very competitive with other options. The least expensive ski rentals tend to be from the shops that are away from the ski resorts. These are fine except when you have problems with your equipment or if you want a different setup. The prices at the ski rental shops that are located right at the base of the mountain are similar to the cost of door-to-door rentals. The walk-in prices tend to be more, but if you make reservations in advance online, the prices are similar. The door-to-door shops also have store fronts at the base of the resorts. If you have problems, you can exchange the equipment at the door-to-door shop locations, or they can deliver the new equipment to the base of the mountain, or even ski it to you on the slopes.
How does door-to-door rental work? You make reservations online describing the ability, height, weight, and shoe size of everyone in your party along with your date of arrival and the location of your condo. The technician will arrive with that equipment and an entire van full of backup equipment if the sizes are not an exact match. If you are delayed due to flights or inclement weather, just call and they will do their best to accommodate the changes in schedule. When you are done with the equipment, give them a call and they will come and pick it up.
Now that you know about this option, there is no reason why you should end up standing in line and being herded into a rental shop. As of this writing, for the 2010-11 season, there are two door-to-door rental companies operating in Summit County. Both offer excellent customer service and specials such as “kids rent free” with a qualifying adult rental.
